Sonic Boom/John Massoni - Sundowner Sessions Sonic Boom and John Massoni first met when Massoni was in London recording for Blast First. When asked who'd he like to remix a song Massoni mentioned Sonic's name, having long admired Spacemen 3 and Spectrum and Sonic's work with sound and his ideas toward minimalism. They struck up a bond and every time Sonic came to Seattle to do a show he'd stay at Massoni's digs. He was now there for a few days and they were hitting some thrift stores and the like looking for cool stuff, spending some time talking about music and such. Sonic knew Massoni was kind of going thru a personal crisis in regards to where his life was going. Massoni had lost a lot of faith in his music. Then one day, Sonic locked Massoni up, downstairs with him and said they were going to get some recording done. Massoni made up all kinds of excuses to not do this, one being his lack of proper equipment, etc. |
